GoldenBiotech announced that they have teamed up with Associate Professor, Irene Han-Juo Cheng ( Institute of Brain Science, National Yang-Ming University, Taiwan) for a new research of using Antroquinonol to prevent and slow Alzheimer’s disease. This study has been published by Scientific Reports in October’s issue. Scientific Reports is a primary research publication from the publishers of Nature. ( Antroquinonol Lowers Brain Amyloid-β Levels and Improves Spatial Learning and Memory in a Transgenic Mouse Model of Alzheimer’s Disease. )

The research findings show that Antroquinonol improved learning and memory in the Alzheimer’s disease mouse model. Results also indicated toxic Aβ levels and the degree of inflammation in brain were also significantly reduced. It was suggested that, by mediating through the increase of Nrf2 and the decrease of histone deacetylase 2 (HDAC2) levels, Antroquinonol could have beneficial effects on AD-like deficits in APP transgenic mouse.
